I have named this square headed boyfriend that I spend so much time with.

Alexander...or, Der, for short. It's a growing habit picked up from naming square things.

I sit and stare at it, talk to it, yell at it, coo and praise it...perfect angst, love and hate it...I'm blissfully addicted and at the same time lament my time that it devours and that I can't break away. I use it to get what I want - which is, after all, what every relationship boils down to.

Wake up, Der.....I MUST..... create ...... S O M E T H I N G!

This part of Alaska doesn't mess around with drawn out season changes. POW, winter to summer. WHAM, summer to winter. LoooOOooong winter. Leaves are beginning to pop, soon it will be green.

I'll be working on the boat again in Southeast Alaska for the summer, another goldmine of photo ops. IF the weather cooperates and I can get the ideal compositions that everybody thinks of when they imagine Alaska. Usually, southeast is rainy and dreary. We do get a lot of chances for rainbows as you can tell by some of my work. There's a few more I haven't worked up and loaded yet, so all you rainbow fans - stay tuned.

Might even see the Deadliest Catch guys working the grounds again. The Northwestern was anchored beside us last summer but they came in after it was too dark to get a good shot and we had to head back to the docks with our load before the morning came. They made a mess of the Sitka bar scene (what happens in Sitka......will probably get you jailed without bail elsewhere....). I just love the Discovery camera crews accents....and their BIG, sleek, sexy equipment...........
uh, cameras, hello?

Great, I mention another piece of electronics and now Der is jealous. How dare it freeze up!...*kicks CPU*
